Exploration narrative.

The narrative summarizes the voyages of the Santiago and Sonora, ordered by Viceroy of Mexico Bucareli, commanded by Juan Pérez, Bruno de Hezeta, and Juan de Ayala. The expeditions set out to explore the Pacific coast north of Monterey, San Francisco Bay, and to resupply the missions. The narrative records the founding of the missions, the number of baptisms, marriages, and deaths, and an inventory of the stock in the missions of San Diego, San Gabriel, San Luis, San Antonio, and San Carlos.
